Her company is Purpose Pioneers, where she’s on a mission to empower leaders and entrepreneurs to put their purpose first, so they can live a meaningful life AND do meaningful work. It’s called the Purpose-First Movement.

Below are some insights from Alexandria Agresta. Enjoy!

What is your personal definition of success?

I do what I love…with people who believe what I believe…to make the world and what’s in it better.

Can you share the steps you take daily to improve?

1) Obsession with self-awareness and talking through things
2) Sitting with my emotions the moment they come up and understanding them so I can move forward quickly and not dwell
3) Do things that bring me immense joy
4) Ask an infinite amount of questions

What is your advice for someone making an important decision?

My philosophy is simple– don’t do anything you don’t want to do. Our mind and body know our HECK YESs and our HECK NOs. Don’t to the freakin’ HECK NOs!! Turn your brain off when fear tries to rationalize, and just leap!

Tell me about a specific moment that set you on the path you’re on now?

My defining moment in life is when my dad got custody of me when I was 7 years old. It changed the trajectory of my life and put me in an environment of unconditional love, expansive thinking, resourcefulness, and unwavering support. My dad has shaped me into the woman I am today.

If you could recommend one book for our audience, what would it be?

The Shack!!!! That book changed my life. You Are A Bad*** is also pretty awesome.

Which character traits do you value most?

Curiosity– when someone has an infinite quest to dig and understand all things.
Growth– a zest for reaching new limits and expanding beyond what is possible.
Your Own Weirdness– my version of authenticity…when someone is just SO them!
Pioneering Spirit- being brave and going first.

How do you push through tough times?

What a phenomenal question. I take a cannonball into my own black hole of pain. Crazy, huh? I find the most liberation, and the most clarity when I have the courage to look within, sit with the feelings, and understand my pain.

What inspires you?

The miracles within every present moment inspire me deeply. Playing in the field of possibility also inspires me to the core.

How do you manage and prioritize opportunities?

I prioritize opportunities by asking myself a few meaningful questions– 1) Does this opportunity align with all of my values? 2) Will this opportunity help me further my purpose? 3) Does this opportunity align with my truest, highest self and bring me total joy?

I manage opportunities by living by the rule “do what’s closest to the impact and income.”

What advice would you give to your 18-year-old self?

I would tell 18-year-old Alex to keep doing exactly what you’re doing. I believe I was designed to experience every single thing on my path, so I wouldn’t want 18-year-old Alex to do anything different than she was doing back then. My pain is what catapulted me into my purpose.
